This performance will look at the idea of social frontiers through performance, visual art, conversation and debate. The work is a result of a collaboration between Professor Gwilym Pryce, Sheffield Methods Institute, and Life at the Frontier researchers, with Bulgarian-born, Sheffield-based artist\/cultural producer Lora Krasteva and Rotherham-based visual artist Uzma Rani. Expect interrogation of boundaries and a perspective on the migrant\/non-native experience as art opens up the notion of social frontiers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Uzma Rani<\/a> is a Rotherham based abstract\/impressionist artist and calligrapher, working predominantly with alcohol ink and acrylic\/oil paint creating mixed media art inspired by both nature and her surroundings as well as her own cultural heritage and religion.
Lora Krasteva<\/a> is an artist, cultural producer and activist. She is part of Global Voices Theatre, a female, non-binary and immigrant-led company introducing international work by historically marginalised creatives in the UK. Lora creates devised, socially engaged work with professionals and other community members alike and has worked with Arts & Homelessness International advocating for a place for creativity in homelessness provision. Lora is a steering group member of What Next? and a founding member of Migrants in Theatre, the movement advocating for a better representation of 1st generation immigrants. Lora currently lives in Sheffield where she sits on the board of the Sheffield Creative Guild. Her latest project, Becoming [\u2026], is a series of creative residencies in four different countries interrogating national identities from the perspective of local migrant artists and communities.<\/p>\n\n\n
