Call of the Void is a completely original musical arrangement created using data collected from the Gravitational-wave Optical Transient Observer (GOTO).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Using real astronomical data recorded by telescopes from around the world that scan the night sky for cosmic explosions and dying stars, Dr Martin Dyer and Tommy Wilson have mapped actual celestial events into musical notation using a process called ‘sonification’ to create original musical compositions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These are being adapted into an album of dynamic, haunting soundscapes and will be pressed onto 12″ vinyl for visitors of the exhibition to hear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
