About the exhibit

Essential to life on Earth, pollen is the focal point of this exhibit created by artist Jodie Armand. Grounded by the scientific research of Dr Lisa Smith and Professor Charles Wellman, Pollen Through Space and Time reveals the extraordinary structural diversity of pollen grains and captures the intricate, hidden processes that unfold within flowers during pollination.

Image Information:

Pollen grains imaged with a scanning electron microscope to show surface structures. Images produced are false coloured so do not reflect real pollen colours.
