Join Professor Phil Withington, Dr Nicholas Groat and Jacob Nickles to hear about their research and taste some of their new-old recipes.

About the event
The way/mark/ing project, led by RESOLVE Collective, Peaks of Colour, Dig Where You Stand, and Bantu Archive Programme, builds on the legacy of the late historian and racial justice activist Mark Hutchinson, a key figure in researching Sheffield’s radical Black history.
An evening of way/mark/ing presents films, and artworks from this project, alongside a panel discussion with the project collaborators and urban design researcher Andrew Belfield. The event explores how Black creatives can work alongside archives to shape how histories are remembered and spaces are made.

About the event
Re-Playing Heritage: Theatre and Remembrance is inspired by Dr Carmen Levick’s research into the history of Sheffield’s Jewish community. The project celebrates the city’s Jewish heritage and culture by reviving the legacy of the ‘Maccabi Players’, a famous post-war community theatre group. Through an exhibition, music and rehearsed readings young people will honour this cultural history, bringing a vibrant chapter of the city’s past back to the stage.
