For the last ten years, archaeologist Professor John Moreland has been working closely with communities, the council and local businesses to answer a complex question: How can we regenerate Castlegate in a way that preserves and celebrates its heritage?
This special event sees the launch of a new book about the archaeology of the site and the story of the castle that was at the heart of Sheffield for centuries. We’re also screening a film that reveals plans for its regeneration and the imaginative partnerships that will bring those plans to life.
The e-book is available to read and download from the White Rose University Press website:
After the book launch and screening, there’s a panel discussion with some of the people involved in the project. Questions for the panel can be submitted prior to the event via the form at the bottom of the page.
