The Broken Crab – Live Event

  • Health
  • Live
Thu 24 September, 7:00pm 60 minutes

Join Dr Sam Pashneh-Tala for a Q&A session discussing the ethical issues surrounding tissue engineering technology and human enhancement raised by the audio play The Broken Crab. The session is hosted by Joe Skelton, writer of the play.

The project

In the near future, athletes enhanced using tissue engineering are gods among mortals. Champion Kim McBride is at the end of her career, but years as a piece of human technology have taken their toll. Kim is on the verge of owning her body again, but corporate interests and revelations from the past threaten her future.

Inspired by Dr Sam Pashneh-Tala’s research in tissue engineering, developing treatments for injury and disease, this compelling audio play from Joe Skelton and Hannah Goraya explores the ethical issues associated with the advancement of this technology and its use in redesigning the human body.
