Fertile is a new interactive theatre show, fusing digital and live storytelling, from award-winning theatre maker Toby Peach, and followed by a Q&A with Professor Allan Pacey. Told through a series of games, meta-theatrics, and digital atmospheres of human anatomy, the show will explore the story of a young man’s experience of infertility, coupled with the life-or-death race of sperm.
Infertility rates are on the rise in the Western World; meanwhile the debate on reproducing in a climate emergency has amplified. Fertile explores society’s bias towards a narrative of reproduction, the increasingly infertile world and how an individual is impacted when that narrative is not possible.
